The largest airport in the world opened in China
Daxing aims to reach one hundred million passengers a year - VIDEO
Today, on September 25th, the new Daxing airport in Beijing (see AVIONEWS) was inaugurated in the presence of Chinese President Xi Jinping: it is the largest in the world, designed by the architect Zaha Hadid, disappeared in 2016, and built after four years of work.
It is the second international infrastructure in Beijing, after Beijing Capital International Airport, and was created to meet the growing demand for air travel in the Capital. It will have the capacity to manage around 45 million passengers a year by 2021 with the long-term goal of reaching a traffic of over one hundred million travellers.
