Three astronauts returned "safe and sound" to Kazakhstan
Among them also the first UAE - VIDEO
Today the American astronaut Nick Hague, the Russian cosmonaut Aleksej Nikolaevič Ovčinin and the United Arab Emirates astronaut Hazza Al Mansouri are back "safe and sound" on the ground from a mission at the International Space Station (see AVIONEWS). Arrived in Kazakhstan at 3:59 pm (local time) with the Russian spacecraft "Soyuz MS-12" after a six-hour journey, the capsule landed in a cloud of dust. The three men underwent preliminary medical checks. Al Mansouri's team wrapped the man in a flag of his country of origin and he will be welcomed into the Emirates as a hero: last month the highest skyscraper in Dubai was illuminated to celebrate the launch of the first UAE in space.
The UAE has a space program full of great ambitions: in October from Japan it launched itsr first local satellite called "KhalifaSat" and intends to send a probe to Mars in 2020.
