Saudi Arabia: women can join the army
Another step forward for civil progress
According to the "Vision 2030" reform program launched by Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman, for the first time in the history of Saudi Arabia, women can join the Army. Before this initiative, the Saudis could work only in security and in areas such as the fight against drug trafficking, the control of prisoners and investigations, but now they can be recruited as simple soldiers until they reach the rank of sergeant. A leap forward for the civil progress of the Country: in 2018 in the Kingdom the prohibition for women to drive was cancelled and from August, to the overcoming of the 21 years of age, they can go abroad without having to necessarily obtain the permission of a male guardian. From October 6, unmarried foreign couples will be able to stay in the same hotel room: a "concession" that would seem to have been created above all to increase the revenue of the tourism sector.
