Russia will deliver "Pantsir-S" missile systems to Serbia

The contract will be terminated in the coming months

Alexander Mikheyev, head of Rosoboronexport, said today that Russia will deliver the "Pantsir-S" missile systems to Serbia in the coming months. He said that "everything goes according to plan, there are no delays. They will be assembled and Serbian specialists will be trained. Training will be completed soon and deliveries will begin as soon as possible. The terms of the contract will be fulfilled".

On October 24, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic declared that Belgrade had purchased these platforms.

"Pantsir" (codename Nato SA-22 "Greyhound", in Italian: "Carapace") is a family of short and medium range self-propelled ground-to-air missile systems, equipped with artillery firearms produced by Kbp in Russia. It represents one of the most recent air defense technologies capable of using radar in stages for target acquisition and tracking. It is designed to provide air defense against aircraft, cruise missiles and drones even at low altitude.
