Daniel Friedkin: an historic aircraft lover for the Italian football club AS Roma
Pilot and collector as well as entrepreneur and film producer
A fan of historical planes, pilot and aircraft collector could be the next president of the Italian football team AS Roma. This is Thomas Daniel Friedkin, a Texan businessman and American film producer with a Forbes esteem of $ 4.1 billion, who among the many activities of his vast curriculum is also the founder and president of the Air Flight Heritage Foundation. The tycoon, which boasts a collection of over 40 machines including four "Spitfire", and the first F-86 jet supplied to the "Frecce Tricolori"; he is also a civilian pilot qualified to fly in formation with US Air Force aircraft during demonstrations. Friedkin is also coordinator of the training program for civilian pilots and flies as the right wingman of the Horsemen patrol, the only one in the world equipped with the P-51D Mustang fighter of the Second World War.
Born in 1965 in San Diego, California, he graduated from Georgetown University and a master's from Rice University, is CEO of Gulf States Toyota Distributors, founded by his father Thomas Hoyt Friedkin, a company that has the exclusive distribution of Japanese cars in Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Oklahoma and in 2018 alone sold vehicles for 9 billion dollars, or 13% of the sales in the United States.
He is currently in talks with James Pallotta to take his place in Rome to which he has offered EUR 780m.
