US deploy air defense and missile systems in Iraq
To protect its Forces on the field after the attack in early January
The USA started deploying air defense and missile systems in Iraq to protect American troops in the event of a potential Iranian attack: Kenneth Mackenzie, head of the United States central command, said it today in a hearing at the House Armed Services Committee.
Since the beginning of the year, the Americans have been trying to obtain permission from Iraq to bring their Patriot missile defenses in the country, to better defend their forces after the Iranian-based missile attack that took place last January 8. The systems that the Pentagon is deploying also include defending against attacks carried out with ballistic missiles.
