Missiles land in the Baghdad airport area
No claims and the attack caused no damage
The Iraqi press reports about a series of explosions that took place today in the Baghdad international airport area. It would be the launch of 3 Katyusha missiles that landed in and around the airport, fortunately without causing damage to people or things. But the episode has again raised alert levels in the country since it is the first attack targeting a Baghdad Governorate site after weeks of stagnation.
The missile attack has not yet been claimed, and it seems that the Iraqi Army has found a timer rocket launcher in a rural area in the western suburbs of Baghdad, however not compatible with this type of armament installed mostly on mobile platforms such as trucks, and more rarely planes.
