Firefighting airplanes and helicopters in Sweden funded by EU

EC is supporting seven other States to upgrade a common aircraft fleet

Short. In view of the Summer, the Swedish fleet for fire prevention and safety will be financed by the EU which will contribute to the purchase of two further aircraft to add to the 19 already in operation (13 fixed wing and 6 rotary wing). The European Community is also supporting 7 other States to strengthen a fleet of aircraft that can put in common their means for fighting fires composed of: 2 planes from Croatia, 2 from Cyprus, one from France, 2 from Greece, 2 from Italy, 2 from Spain, 2 airplanes and 6 firefighting helicopters from Sweden.
