99 year old woman is the oldest in the world to fly a plane

The Guinness World Record has made the singular record official

Almost a century of life: Robina Asti is a 99 year old lady who conquered a singular record in the last few hours. As certified by the Guinness World Record, she is the oldest person in the world capable of flying a plane and also giving flying lessons. This aviator lives in Riverside, California, and in this location she made the record official. Thanks to the hours spent in the sky, she beat the "competition" of a 98-year-old Iowa man who recently held the record we are talking about.

Her last lesson was given at the NextGen Flight Academy in Riverside and there were some journalists who rushed to the site to verify the lady's skills. Asti wanted to remember how even the oldest person can be useful for society, providing valuable and sometimes unthinkable contributions. Her students especially appreciate her in-depth knowledge of laws and regulations, demonstrating a perfectly functioning brain. One of the 99-year-old pilots recalled the valuable advices provided by her, much more useful than all learned in over a thousand flight hours. The record lasted since 2016, since Ernest Eli Smith stunned the world with his flight from Red Oak when he was 98 years and 114 days old.
