Russia successfully tests Tsirkov hypersonic missile

The navy reported this to President Putin - VIDEO

A very special birthday gift: according to Russian media, the experimentation of Tsirkon hypersonic missile by the country's Navy must be considered a sort of homage to President Vladimir Putin who turns 68 today, Wednesday 7 October 2020. Moscow received from Valery Gerasimov, chief of staff of the army, the news of the successful test, a moment considered very important for all of Russia. The information was made official during the morning today, even if the operation was completed at 7:15 yesterday by the frigate of the “Gorshkov” fleet. Going into more detail of the event, the Tsirkon was launched against a target positioned in the Barents Sea to verify the peculiar characteristics that have been studied with extreme care.

The range is 450 kilometers, while the maximum height that this missile can reach is 28 km; the experiment lasted 4 minutes and 30 seconds, without forgetting the hypersonic speed reached, eight times the speed of sound (over Mach 8). As the test was judged positively, the Russian Navy submarines and ships will be equipped with the missile over the next few weeks. As Putin has repeatedly reiterated, the Tsirkon would be able to hit naval and land targets, consequently studies on the missile will continue to understand what other objectives can be achieved.
