Aircraft, Iberia could rely on long haul
North and South America among main connections
“Good flight”: the wish that became the official slogan of carrier Iberia could be pronounced with greater conviction in the coming months after the Spanish media learned of the latest commercial intentions. According to reports in the last few hours, the company should rely on the long-range to overcome the crisis triggered by the coronavirus pandemic; new air connections program should be detailed in the course of next week, but obviously the conditional is still a must. Restrictions imposed by Madrid will lead to this reopening of the most important destinations, especially those located in North and South America.
Brazil and Colombia could characterize November routes, although already during this month of October there were flights to Uruguay, Florida, Panama, Ecuador, Costa Rica, Chile and Santo Domingo (just to name a few examples significant). Christmas period is destined to further increase these frequencies, but once again we cannot fail to link departures and arrivals to the numbers of the coronavirus. Meanwhile, data on tourism in Spain continue to be more than negative, given that hotel bookings in September dropped by 78 percentage points on an annual basis (see AVIONEWS).
