Spain, covid passport will debut on June 7
It will be essential to revive tourism and air transport
Just under two weeks: very little is missing from the official debut of the so-called "covid passport" in Spain, a fundamental document for reactivating national and international tourist flows, primarily those relating to air transport. The date chosen for this actual launch is that of next June 7, therefore in 10 days to be precise. The passport in question has already been invested with a crucial and decisive role for the revival of the economy in the summer period. This is an initial test to understand the real advantages of a novelty like the one just described, an innovation in which the premier of the Iberian country, Pedro Sanchez, strongly believes. The digital certificate represents a pilot project whose details still need to be refined to propose the final and definitive version. The release of the latter will most likely take place on July 1st, just under a month after the Spanish debut. The covid passport will contain a number of key passenger information, in particular the date of the vaccine, the latest coronavirus tests and more. Sanchez was very explicit in promoting the novelty during the national fair for the repopulation of rural Spain: “This is great news for the tourism industry, but not just for destinations that have to do with the sun and the sea, but also for the offer related to the hinterland".
