Pošta Slovenije, first test flight for delivery drone
The goal is to reach more remote areas of the country
Pošta Slovenije, state-owned company responsible for the postal service in Slovenia, has completed the first test flight with a drone for the delivery of its competence. The project also involved another company of the Balkan nation, OneDrone, which, as the name suggests, specializes in these aircraft. The experiment had as background the Moistrocca pass, the mountainous massif of the Slovenian Julian Alps, made up of three peaks. The postal company stressed that this flight represents the first step towards unmanned delivery and shipping of essential activities. The choice was made with a very specific intent, given that we want to make a decisive contribution to the reduction of atmospheric pollution, but not only. In fact, other objectives to be achieved are the optimization of routes in the logistics field, the faster supply of essential goods and materials in remote areas, those that are more complicated to achieve so to speak. This technology has had the merit of developing a more effective service, even if we must always refer to the laws that have to do with airspace. According to Pošta Slovenije, in fact, there is no reference regulatory framework for the airspace of the European continent, consequently deliveries differ from country to country.
