Russian commercial offer for 21 Mig-29 airplanes to India
Asian nation is considering whether to accept the delivery
In the last few hours, the presentation of a commercial offer by Russia to India has been completed, specifically 21 Mig-29 military aircraft that Moscow will manufacture on behalf of the armed forces of the Asian Nation. As reported by the Russian media, the indiscretion would have come from the spokesperson of the federal service for technical-military cooperation, Valeria Reshetnikova, more precisely during the "Maks 2021" event. The Indian Air Force has sent Russia a formal tender request for the delivery of these aircraft by the end of 2021. The commercial offer has been formalized and the New Delhi partners will now have to examine it to eventually conclude the deal. According to the Indian media, however, last January the Asian country had planned to acquire 21 Mig-29 and 12 Su-30MKI fighter jets from Russia, so the negotiations were interrupted before resuming this Summer. The New Delhi Air Force already has several aircraft from the latest offer, so much so that the successful conclusion of the deal would raise the total number to 59. In February the two nations had been very close in conjunction with the “Aero India 2021" in Bangalore. In that case there was talk of an investment of a certain weight, 300 million dollars to create a logistics center in which to assemble the various components of military aircraft. Among other things, India boasts a very particular world record, given that it is the main country at an international level as regards the use of Su-30MKI aircraft.
