Bombardier is building new advanced plant
Invested $500 million; it will be ready in 2023

Canadian aircraft manufacturer Bombardier will build its new airplanes in a new 770,000-square-foot advanced manufacturing facility located in Mississauga, next to Toronto-Pearson International Airport. It is a decision that will mark a decisive economic shift that will shape the future of the entire region. At a time when the aviation industry has been devastated by the pandemic.
"The demand for business jets is increasing, especially for the large cabins we are going to build in Toronto. I've been very impressed with the system we have to train kids who might decide to pursue a career in aerospace. And we will welcome them to the company over the next 10, 15 and 20 years", said industry president Éric Martel.
This is one of the largest investments the city has ever seen. The Canadian manufacturer has put up 500 million dollars and will provide jobs for about 2,000 people. The plant will be ready in 2023. At the new Mississauga facility, Bombardier will continue production of its Global 7500 aircraft, moving operations from the old Downsview plant built in the 1960s.
The company, specialized in corporate jet aircraft, operates in a market that become more profitable today than ever before.
