Crisis Ukraine: Russia sends military vehicles

British intelligence reports sighting of new helicopters

Russia, despite the retreat of some military vehicles in recent hours, is increasing the presence of armed men, helicopters and armored vehicles of the Army along the border with Ukraine. Also reported is the construction of mobile bridges and field hospitals. The Kremlin has consistently denied having any invasion plans, calling Western warnings about an impending invasion a paranoia.

"Contrary to claims, Russia continues to develop military capabilities near the border. This includes sightings of additional armored vehicles, helicopters and a field hospital moving toward Ukraine's borders. Russia has committed a military potential capable of conducting an invasion of Ukraine", said head of British defense intelligence Lt. Gen. Jim Hockenhull.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly stated that he does not want war. He has also said that Russia has decided to partially withdraw troops from neighboring Ukraine. However, he has argued that further discussions are needed with the West on security issues, including ensuring that Ukraine never joins NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization).
