USA: air cab regulations under consideration
Department of Transportation and FAA united on flying cab certification

The future of air travel with flying taxi is creating "new and complex safety challenges" for the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), which is currently reviewing applications for certification of electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVtol) aircraft. For this reason, the US Department of Transportation has indicated that it will review the regulator's progress in determining the regulatory basis for air taxi certification.
Interest in urban air mobility and highly automated passenger and freight aircraft has grown exponentially around the world. FAA said he will cooperate with the Office of Inspector General to improve the safety of this innovative industry. The Department of Transportation noted that the existing regulation for eVtol certification is "still primarily intended for traditional small aircraft with a pilot on board, but aircraft could be fully autonomous".
