A B-737/89P passenger aircraft of the Chinese carrier China Eastern Airlines with 132 people on board (123 passengers and 9 crewmembers) crashed in a mountainous area of Guangxi province in southern China and caught fire. According to initial reports there were no survivors. The cause of the accident is still unknown. 

The aircraft had taken off from the airport in Kunming and was heading towards the city of Guangzhou. The flight MU5735 had taken off at 07:20 Italian time and was due to arrive two hours later. According to data from the specialized website "FlightRadar24", contact with the aircraft was lost at an altitude of 3225 feet, while the plane was flying over the Chinese city of Wuzhou, in Teng County.

Some international media reported some indiscretions about the possible dynamics of the event: the aircraft would have quickly lost speed and then would have started a sudden descent. The rescue teams sent to the scene of the accident are still working. Several videos shared on social networks show the wreckage of the aircraft scattered everywhere on the hills and the smoke rising from the accident site.
