First US-Russia meeting
Moscow announcement: there will be no talk of Ukraine, face to face between intelligence chiefs
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Serghei Ryabkov announced today that a delegation from Russia and one from the United States will meet from November 29 to December 6 in Cairo, Egypt, as part of the bilateral commission which oversees the implementation of the "New Start" on the reduction of nuclear arsenals. The face to face will be held between the head of Russian intelligence Sergey Naryshkin and the director of the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) William Burns.
"The meeting was initiated by the United States through intelligence channels. The issues discussed will be sensitive". "Regarding the topic of Ukraine, we have nothing to discuss. Every time we touch on the topic of Ukraine in any way, all communication comes down to sending signals to each other, but there can be no dialogue or since our opinions are opposite", Ryabkov explained, in an interview of the Russian news agency "Tass".
