Ukrainian war: Kiev awaits Meloni
Italian premier has promised her official visit by February 2023
The government of Ukraine welcomed the words of the Italian Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni, on the occasion of the traditional end-of-year press conference held yesterday in the Parliamentary Groups Hall. In particular, Kiev announced today that it awaits the official visit that the Italian premier has promised to make by February 2023.
The invitation to Meloni "is open" and "the beginning of next year would be the best time to discuss military support, sanctions and the peace conference". As for a visit by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to Rome, everything "will depend on the situation on the ground. Italy would play an essential historical role for everyone's victory, if it assumed the leadership also for our entry into the EU", declared the Ukrainian vice president, Olha Stefanishyna, interviewed by the Italian newspaper "la Repubblica".
