Plane lands in 27 meters of runway

The company on the platform of a helipad on top of a hotel in Dubai - VIDEO

Historic enterprise in the United Arab Emirates. Polish pilot Luke Czepiela, 39, yesterday became the first person in the world to land a plane on a helipad. The platform sits atop Dubai's Burj Al Arab Jumeirah hotel, at a height of 212 meters above sea level.

The feat was accomplished aboard a Cub Crafters Carbon Cub aircraft in Red Bull Air Race livery. The aircraft is seven meters long and has been specially modified to perform this performance. In fact, the aircraft had a 27-metre long platform available and the pilot managed to land on just 20.76 meters of runway.

Below, the video. It shows the pilot training making several short landings on a traditional runway. Later, various attempts to stop the plane's run on a helicopter pad can be seen in the images.
