China presents military assets for export

On display at the "Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace" airshow in Malaysia

China's military industry is promoting a range of systems for export to developing countries. These assets include: a WJ-700 armed drone manufactured by China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation (CASIC) and JN1101-H electronic warfare systems built by China Electronics Technology Group Corporation (Cetc) for helicopters and aircraft.

These systems are on display these days at the annual "Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace" ("Lima") airshow, held in Malaysia from 23 to 27 May. During the sector fair, Chinese aeronautical assets will be the protagonists of some acrobatic shows in the skies.

The WJ-700 armed drone has a turbojet engine and features four underwing hardpoints, capable of accommodating 2 CM-102 missiles and 2 CM-502KG short-range anti-ship missiles. According to the data sheet, the remotely piloted aircraft would have about 15 hours of autonomy. Instead, the JN1101-H system was designed to perform communications intelligence missions (including jamming) and a variant for drones is under study.
