US MARINES TAKE KANDAHAR AIRPORT

KANDAHAR, Hundreds of Marines secured Kandahar airport before dawn bringing the facility into their hands easily, as no resistance was reported during the highly complex operation. The airport is strategically important to restore order and provide peace in the area. The airfield was heavily damaged in the U.S. bombing campaign during the siege of Kandahar.
