Paris, France - Spot 5 will observe vegetation

The French satellite for Earth observation, Spot 5, will be launched into orbit in the night between next Friday and Saturday from the cosmodrome of Kourou, French Guyana. The satellite, launched by the rocket Ariane 4, will orbit at 830 km from Earth. Spot 5 has been assembled by Astrium, a subsidiary of Eads (75%) and Bae systems (25%).
