New terminal at Billund airport

Billund, Denmark

A 70EURm air terminal has opened at Billund, 36 miles from Esbjerg in west Denmark. It is built with glass walls, so that travellers arriving to check in can see the aircraft on the apron, and expands the airport's capacity to 3.5m passengers a year. Currently, Billund is handling about 1.7m - significantly more than the total for which the old terminal was designed. (Gio/B)
