Greece to launch its first satellite

Athens, Greece - Hellas-Sat to take off next March 2003

For the first time ever, Greece is to launch its first communications satellite into orbit, Hellas-Sat. 4,9 meter-long and 3250 kg heavy, the satellite, which has been realized by the co-operation between the French Astrium and the Hellenic consortium Hellas-Sat, is scheduled to take off as of next March 2003.
