BAA profits eroded

London, UK - Its airports suffered a 1,7% fall in passengers

A GBP 5m bill for extra security guards and anti-terrorist insurance held back quarterly profits at airports operator BAA, which warned that its passenger numbers were likely to remain flat until autumn. Its seven airports, which include Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted, suffered a 1.7% fall in passenger numbers to 32m in the three months to June. Pre-tax profits fell 5.9% to GBP 143m....
